“Never before have I wanted to take a picture of a naked man so badly”
This would be Casey talking about our reason for coming to Florence, The Statue of David. The Gallery it was in didn’t allow you to take pictures, but don’t worry we got some. I think they underestimated my sneakiness. There are three statues of David located in Florence, two of them of course are fakes or replicas. The real one is located in a museum along with other famous statues and paintings in the heart of Florence.
"Then David knew that the Lord had established him as king over Israel and had exalted his kingdom for the sake of his people Israel." - 2 Samuel 5:12
The Statue of David is an immaculate larger than life piece of art. It is much bigger in than I though it was. The detail in the statue was amazing, everything from the building veins on his arms to the waving locks of hair. It really is mind blowing to see that a man can stare at a block of marble and then come up with that.
There was a pretty cool market in the centre of the city so in the evening we did some shopping and had some legit pizza for dinner. It was delicious.
The Internet was down at the hostel so I am posting this a day late. I’m currently in Venice and you can read about that tomorrow!

It’s getting colder here and I am not dressed for the weather. I refuse to buy a coat because I cant afford it and don’t really have the room to take it back, so I will continue to suck it up.
Arrivederci
