This my friends is the unofficial slogan for the larger than life department store Harrods. Today I did the dangerous thing of entering into this store to do some shopping. The minute I stepped inside this store I was amazed. It had every high-end brand name you could ever dream of all under one roof. This place had a food court a supermarket, an electronics store and cafes on all five levels. I had to constantly remind myself that this trip was expensive enough and I had to watch my money. Believe me it was harder than it sounds. The central escalators were Egyptian themed and were more extravagant than necessary, but really when you look at the price tags of some of the items within the store you realize it’s the right amount of extravagant. Versace beds, Rolex Watches, and Diamond necklaces as far as the eye can see. I barely made it out alive with my wallet in tact.
I then decided that department store shopping was out of my price range for now and went to Covent station where there were small shops, street performers, and a tiny little knick knack market that was calling my name. It was fun to see guys make there way out of straight jackets as I dined Italian style on an indoor patio. They really wanted my money for watching… to bad for them.
The final stop on my short day of shopping was completely by accident. After I had finished the market spending my last few dollars in London as it were I happened to stumble upon the most spectacular Apple store I have ever seen. Three floors of Ipods, Laptops, Gadgets and all sorts of cool Mac products that I have never seen anywhere else. Naturally I had to pick something up as I snapped a few photos to remember the cool factor of this old brick building housing a trendy new store, fully furnished with a glass elevator and winding glass staircase. Long Live Macs!
