Today I ventured Back into London after Spending the weekend at my cousins house. The Weather was pretty dreary and cold but it warmed up a little as i got closer to the city. As i gazed out the window on the bus ride i noticed how similar the countryside of London was to some parts of alberta, just replace all the cows with sheep.
I have to say i really enjoyed being at my families place, for one i appreciate a place to stay that doesnt cost me an arm and a leg. but i really like watching Doug be a dad. dont take my comment wrong, its not a slight against Kara (Doug and Kara are the cousins i stayed with btw) but i think its because that is one thing i really look forward to in life is being a Dad, but dont worry, that is a long ways away.
London: I went against my better judgement and took a taxi to my hostel, and i am so glad i did. with the construction around Piccadilly it was really hard to get to and i imagine had i not taken a taxi who knew where it was i would have been wondering for hours. I discovered the meaning of you get what you pay for. being a little panicky when i first landed last week i booked a hostel through the airport which cost a little more than i wanted. It was pretty nice included breakfast and the people were super friendly. The new hostel was less than half that price per night and trust me you can see why all over the place. Im not complaining, its good enough for a place to rest my head at night.
It was night time by the time i arrived and got settle so that limited a few of my options sightseeing wise. I decided that it would be cool to ride the London Eye at night instead of the day. It was totally worth it, before going on the eye they showed you a 4D theatre experience which was pretty cool. But the eye was unreal, the view is spectacular, im very glad i went at night. If it wasn't so expensive i would probably consider going again during the day.
Tomorrow I will continue to tour the city and possibly visit the Tate museum of Modern Art.
Im really craving Asian food so i will see how that goes.
